Minister John J. Cobb is a devoted teacher and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ whose ministry emphasizes Sound Doctrine and Church History. He has served the Christian community for many years as a Workshop Leader with the Greater Chicago Sunday School Association and as a contributing writer for the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Baptist Layman Series. His ministry experience also includes keynote speaking engagements where he has encouraged believers through clear, Scripture‑anchored teaching.
Minister Cobb is the author of Lord When? and From Death to Life, and he is currently completing his third book, The Resurrection: What Does the Bible Say? His commitment to biblical education is reflected in his service as General Superintendent of Sunday School, Chairman of the Board of Christian Education, teacher in the Sunday School Department, and Instructor in the Certified Christian Educators Program of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., Sunday School Publishing Board. He also serves faithfully as a member of Shiloh’s ministerial staff.
His theological training includes several correspondence courses completed through the Ligonier School of Theology in Canada, an institution that is no longer in operation.
A United States Navy veteran of 24 years, Minister Cobb resides in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, with his wife, Fay Cobb. They are blessed with two children, four grandchildren, and four great‑grandchildren.
